Chido

Chido is a charming and gentle soul who has overcome a difficult past and is now ready to find his forever home. Despite his experiences, Chido remains optimistic and trusting of people and other animals, especially cats. He's a social butterfly who makes friends easily with both humans and his furry companions.

Chido enjoys a balanced lifestyle with short walks, playtime, and plenty of naps. He's great with children and cats, and generally gets along well with other dogs, provided they are not overly assertive. He can be a bit nervous during thunderstorms and fireworks but calms down quickly with reassurance.

Ideal Home

Chido would thrive in a patient household with someone who works from home or is retired, as he suffers from separation anxiety. He needs a relaxed companion to spend his days with and is looking for an indoor-only home where he can receive all the love he deserves.

Ongoing Health

Chido is heartworm positive and is currently on slow-kill medication, which is a low-cost monthly pill. He will need annual testing to monitor his heartworm status. He also experiences occasional hip arthritis, which can make movement difficult initially. This has only occurred twice in recent months and is managed with gentle hip massage and rest. X-rays show inflammation but no broken bones.

Training & Support

Chido walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, and is potty trained. His primary need is consistent companionship to help with his separation anxiety.
