Shawn is a thoughtful, sensitive, and quietly loyal soul. He moves through the world with caution and awareness, watching closely before deciding it’s safe to step forward. When he does, his affection is steady, genuine, and deeply meaningful. Born in January 2021, Shawn is a young adult who thrives on structure, routine, and clear expectations. He’s intelligent and capable, learning best with consistency and patience, and he benefits from a confident handler who can offer calm leadership. Shawn may take time to warm up to new people, especially strangers, but once trust is built, he shows his softer side — loyal, engaged, and eager to belong. He has lived with children ages 7–15 and does best with older kids who understand boundaries and respect his space. He prefers a quieter, predictable environment and is happiest when introductions are slow and intentional. Handling and new situations can be overwhelming for him at first, so he’s looking for a home that understands that trust is something earned, not rushed. When it comes to other dogs, Shawn is selective. He tolerates calm, respectful dogs but doesn’t seek out canine companionship and would truly thrive as the only dog in a home where he can be the center of his person’s world. He enjoys human connection most and does best in one-on-one environments where he doesn’t feel pressured or overstimulated. Shawn is still learning leash skills, house training, and confidence, but with the right guidance, he has all the potential to become a deeply devoted companion.
Ideal Home
Shawn would do best in a home with older children (10 years and up) who understand boundaries and respect his space. He prefers a quieter, predictable environment and would truly thrive as the only dog in the home.

Shawn is still a work in progress and is learning leash skills, house training, and confidence. He is best suited for an experienced adopter who understands structure, boundaries, and positive reinforcement, and who sees patience not as a challenge, but as a gift.
