Leon

Leon is a loving, intelligent, obedient, and playful boy looking for his forever home! This handsome Labrador Creole mix is approximately 1 year old and weighs about 30 lbs. He's energetic and sociable with everyone, including children and other dogs. Leon enjoys playtime, going for walks, and absolutely adores affection. He can be a little shy when first meeting new people, but a few kind words and pets and he'll be melting in your arms. He's also a dog and cat-friendly fellow! Leon is described as affectionate, docile, playful, loyal, joyful, and funny. He's already crate and leash trained, which is a great start! Leon was rescued in March 2024, found in a field with his siblings shortly after birth.

Ideal Home

Leon would thrive in a home with active families who enjoy outdoor activities. Homeowners with a fenced backyard are preferred. Families with an open conscience about rescuing street animals and understanding their need for protection and education, along with experience in dog behavior and training, are ideal. Patience and high tolerance are essential for this rescued pup. Leon is NOT house trained, and adopters should be prepared for this.

Ongoing Health

Leon has completed a comprehensive health protocol. He is neutered and has received DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, and deworming. He is microchipped and tested negative for heartworm (with a certificate). He is up-to-date on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are included.

Training & Support

Leon is already crate and leash trained. However, it is important to note that he is NOT house trained. Adopters should be prepared for the commitment of house training a rescued dog.

Transporation

Leon is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transport to the adopter's home address is available and is an additional $400 fee, paid by the adopter prior to departure.
