Missy

Missy is a delightful 1-2 year old American Bully mix who has overcome a lot to become the loving dog she is today! She arrived at the shelter in rough shape, emaciated and bearing old scars, with a skin infection and a paw injury. Thanks to dedicated care and time in a foster home, she's bounced back beautifully and is ready to find her forever family.

Missy is a bundle of energy and joy! She loves to play, especially with her favorite one-way fetch, and her zoomie sessions are a sight to behold. She walks wonderfully on leash and even enjoys wearing a cute winter jacket and booties to keep her sensitive skin protected from the cold. Missy is incredibly food-motivated and has mastered an impressive repertoire of tricks including sit, lie down, speak, and giving both paws! She's also a bit of a chatterbox, letting you know when she's seeking affection or when it's time for her next meal.

Ideal Home

Missy would thrive in a home with another energetic dog who can keep up with her playful spirit and help her expend her boundless energy. She adores meeting new canine friends and is happy to share her toys. While she lives with children aged 6 and up and does well, she can be a bit boisterous when excited, so a home with very young children might not be the best fit as she could accidentally knock them over. She has not been tested with cats.

Ongoing Health

Missy's skin is sensitive, and she'll likely benefit from continued care to keep it healthy, especially in colder weather. She enjoys wearing her winter gear to protect her thin skin.

Training & Support

Missy is a smart cookie and highly food-motivated, which makes training a breeze! She already knows several commands and is eager to learn more. Her occasional "bull in a china shop" excitement around younger children is something to be mindful of as she continues to learn gentle play.
