Ekko is a five-year-old French Bulldog with a goofy charm and an affectionate spirit that shines through her big, bug-like eyes. She came to the rescue after being surrendered by her previous owner, where she had spent her early years as a breeding dog. Her past involved multiple litters and left her in poor health, with dirty ears and untreated infections that almost required surgery. Thankfully, with the right care, including antibiotics and regular vet visits, she has made a remarkable recovery.
Since coming into care, Ekko has transformed from a dog in need into a happy, playful companion. Her earlier health issues have been managed, and shes now thriving in her foster home. Her personality is a delightful mix of silliness and love; she enjoys being a couch potato but also loves to play and wrestle with her friends. She sits close to her favorite people, always ready for cuddles.
As a French Bulldog, Ekko has a playful and slightly derpy demeanor that makes her a joy to be around. She loves to greet her humans with enthusiasm, her whole body wiggling in excitement. Her daily routine involves lounging in the sun, playing with new toys, and enjoying her meals. She's also crate trained and walks well on a leash, making her a breeze to take out and about.
Ideal Home
Ekko is looking for a home with playful companions, preferably with older kids or adults who can give her the attention and patience she needs. She thrives in an environment where she can play and explore, and she adores snuggling up in bed with her humans. A home where someone is present and can support her ongoing growth will be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Ekko does have some ongoing medical needs that her new owner will need to stay on top of. Her allergies are managed with a hydrolyzed diet alongside a daily allergy medication. She has dry eyes that require daily eye drops, and her ears need regular medicated drops to keep those old infections from returning. She also ground down her teeth chewing on a crate at her former home, so she may need dental work somewhere down the road and will benefit from routine dental monitoring in the meantime. Regular grooming keeps her clean and comfortable, and like all Frenchies, care must be taken to prevent overheating due to her breeds respiratory sensitivity.
Training & Support
While Ekko can be reactive to loud noises or quick movements, she is generally friendly with strangers and enjoys meeting new people. A slow introduction to any new environments or situations will help her feel secure.
