Montse Lerma

Montse is a sweet, cuddly, and loving 4-year-old, 40 lb Australian Shepherd mix with a spirit for adventure! She is crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained. Montse knows "sit" and enjoys exploring, though she has a knack for digging out of the backyard for some independent excursions. Don't worry, she always stays close and finds her way back home. She can be a bit nervous around new people and might flinch if approached too quickly, but she doesn't resource guard. While she's been around cats without issue, we're not sure she'd do well living with them. She is compatible with other dogs after proper introductions.

Ideal Home

A home that understands her adventurous spirit and can provide a secure (and dig-proof!) yard would be ideal. Given her nervousness around new people, a patient and understanding family will help her feel most comfortable.

Montse is spayed and vaccinated. No specific health conditions were mentioned.

Training & Support

Montse is a quick learner, knowing "sit"! While she's mastered crate, potty, and leash training, she's also figured out how to escape collars and harnesses, so extra secure options might be needed. Her digging tendency is more about her explorer nature than mischief. Patience and positive reinforcement will go a long way in helping her adjust to new people and situations.
