About Peanut

Hi, my name is Peanut! I'm a laidback, affectionate pup who loves snuggling, going for walks, riding in the car, soaking up the sun, and relaxing with my people. I'm looking for my forever home where I can get lots of love and attention – I truly thrive on human connection. I get along well with cats and small dogs, and with slow introductions, I can be friends with large dogs too. One of my favorite daily activities is sitting and waiting for the school bus so the kids can pet me and shower me with affection – I love being admired! Soft, plush toys make the perfect pillow for my head, and I also enjoy a good, sturdy chew toy to keep me entertained. I'm currently a little overweight, but I'm excited to get back to a healthier, slimmer figure with the right care and exercise.

Ideal Home

Peanut thrives on human connection and would love a home where they can get lots of love and attention. Peanut can be nervous during fireworks and thunderstorms, so a home where someone can reassure them during loud events would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Peanut has hip dysplasia and experienced a partial tear of their left cranial cruciate ligament about 3 years ago. With regular medication, this does not slow them down. Peanut is also a little overweight and is looking for a home that can help them get back to a healthier weight with proper care and exercise.

Training & Support

Peanut is crate-trained and leash-trained, and knows basic commands. However, Peanut can get a little overexcited in large crowds and may forget their manners. With patience, consistency, and guidance, Peanut can continue to improve. Peanut can be protective of the person they bond with, but warms up quickly once they know there's no threat.
