Valentino is believed to be an American Staffy/Boxer mix, approximately 2 years old and weighing 61 lbs. As with any rescue, breed and age are not guaranteed. What we can guarantee is that this boy has enough personality and charm for at least five dogs!

Valentino adores people and forms sweet bonds once he's comfortable. He might take a moment to warm up to new people, but his affectionate and goofy side quickly shines through. Once he knows you're safe, he's all love with a warm, happy personality. He wakes up excited just to exist, loves attention, enjoys cuddling, and has a joyful presence that makes him incredibly fun to be around.

When it comes to other dogs, Valentino has done very well with every dog he's been introduced to and loves to play! His play style is the goofy, rowdy "let's wrestle and zoom around like maniacs" variety. He enjoys chase games, rumble-and-tumble wrestling, and vocal play. His ideal canine companion would be a confident, playful female who enjoys roughhousing, isn't bothered by vocal play, and knows how to take breaks when play gets too exciting. Balanced dogs help keep his play fun and easygoing. However, Valentino doesn't need another dog to be happy and would be perfectly content as your one-and-only spoiled boy.

Valentino is crate trained, potty trained, incredibly smart, and eager to please. He already knows commands like "sit" and seems like a dog you could teach anything. He's enthusiastic about learning and loves toys of all kinds. He's also good at entertaining himself. Food motivation is a strong plus, as he loves treats and learning.

On leash, Valentino walks pretty well but can pull out of excitement. He's an oversized puppy with a huge zest for life and will thrive with adopters who provide structure, consistency, training, and positive outlets for his energy. He does best with confident guidance and clear boundaries to help him channel his enthusiasm.

Valentino's dream home would include a backyard for zooming, playing with toys, sunbathing, and splashing in water. He seemed very into puddles, so he might be a water dog! He's semi-active and would love hikes, adventures, backyard playtime, and enrichment toys, anything that includes him in life with his people. After some exercise, he's ready to curl up for cuddles and be your couch companion.

Valentino is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Transport includes drop off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
