Meet Tyler, a precious little Chihuahua with a heart full of love and loyalty. This sweet boy forms deep bonds with his people and is happiest curled up in your lap, soaking up belly rubs, or simply staying close by. Once Tyler trusts you, he'll be your most devoted companion. Tyler has a playful side, too! He enjoys romping around with other dogs he knows, chasing toys, and zooming around a securely fenced yard. He is looking for a home with a physically fenced yard where he can safely play and explore.
Ideal Home
Tyler would do best with an experienced dog owner who understands that relationships develop at his pace. A calm, adult-only home without small children would be ideal. He also prefers a predictable environment where he can feel safe and secure. Tyler needs a home with a physically fenced yard.
Ongoing Health
Tyler is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and received a ProHeart 12 Injection. He is maintained on monthly flea and tick preventatives. He has some thinning fur, which was due to a flea infestation he had upon coming to us, but this has been resolved.
Training & Support
Tyler has made wonderful progress with his potty training and rarely needs to wear a belly band anymore. Like many male dogs, he may still mark indoors if another dog has already done so, but overall he has done very well with his house manners. He's also respectful in the home and can be left out without getting into mischief. Tyler can be a little protective of his food, so feeding him separately from other dogs is recommended. Tyler does take time to adjust to new people, dogs, and environments. When he first arrives somewhere new, he can be shy and fearful, and he may growl at unfamiliar dogs or be cautious around new people. He isn't the type of dog who instantly makes friends, but with patience and understanding, his true personality shines through. Once he becomes comfortable, he enjoys the company of familiar dogs and blossoms into an affectionate, loving companion.
