Smokey

MEET SMOKEY! This gentle soul began his life on the streets of Harris County, Texas, facing daily struggles for survival. He was rescued by Animal Control and brought to a high-kill shelter, where he had mere minutes left before his time was up. Thankfully, he was saved just in the nick of time and brought into our care.

Smokey's past on the streets meant he lacked proper shelter and care, leading to a heartworm diagnosis. He's currently undergoing treatment for this. Despite his hardships, Smokey is a loving and gentle four-year-old boy with a spirit that shines. His foster family describes him as polite, calm, and well-behaved indoors, with no accidents or complaints – just gratitude and affection. He also gets along wonderfully with other dogs! Smokey’s journey is a testament to resilience, and he's now ready for a forever family to show him the best is yet to come.

Smokey would thrive in a home where he can continue to feel safe and loved. He has shown himself to be well-behaved indoors and is a great companion.

Smokey is currently being treated for heartworms.
