Cannoli

Cannoli is a darling 7-year-old Pomeranian who weighs about 10 pounds. She arrived at our rescue after being found in very poor condition – severely matted, dirty, hungry, thirsty, and covered in fleas and ticks. Despite her difficult past, Cannoli is an incredibly sweet and loving girl. She adores her people and enjoys quiet companionship, happily snuggling by your side. Her beautiful multi-colored coat, soulful eyes, and gentle disposition make her instantly lovable.

Ideal Home

Cannoli would do best in a home with older, respectful children (10 years and up) who can provide a calm environment. A home with carpet or rugs is ideal, and access to furniture steps will be necessary due to her hip condition. She needs a fenced yard for her safety. Slippery floors may present a challenge for her. Due to past trauma, she may need to use pee pads if she is afraid to go outside at night.

Ongoing Health

Cannoli is currently being treated for Lyme disease with doxycycline and is expected to make a full recovery. Please note that dogs treated for Lyme disease can continue to test positive for years. X-rays revealed some arthritis in her hips, with one hip occasionally slipping. She underwent a spay surgery and dental work on 6/10, which included several tooth extractions. She will require a soft/canned food diet.

Training & Support

Cannoli is almost house-trained and is fully crate-trained, settling comfortably in her crate. She walks nicely on a leash. She will need continued support to overcome her fear of going outside at night.
