Bear is a 6-year-old shorty looking for his forever home! This boy is approximately 18 lbs and is the sweetest guy. Because of how short he is, we do believe he is some sort of Bassett mix! He loves other dogs and gets along wonderfully with them, no matter their size. Bear has also met kitties and gets along great with them too! Kids? No problem. Bear just asks they love him a lot, as he has a lot of love to give. A fun quirk about Bear is that he ALWAYS has to have a blanket. He has an attachment to his blankets, no matter how hot it is. He covers himself with it, then will uncover himself, go run and play, eat his food, and go right back under his blanket. He is obsessed with his blankets and it's absolutely adorable! He will drag it everywhere he can! Bear is house and crate trained. He used to have an owner, but he was surrendered as his owner was elderly and got sent to a nursing home and could no longer keep him. This boy is quirky, fun, playful, gentle, and all-around loving. If you have blankets, that's even more of a plus!
Ideal Home
Bear gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and children.
Ongoing Health
Bear will be fixed, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on dewormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
Training & Support
Bear is house and crate trained.

Transporation
Bear is currently located in Texas. We do not adopt animals out in Texas due to the high euthanasia rates. We only adopt in the Central US and on the East Coast. The adoption fee includes transport from Texas to the locations listed below. Transport goes every 2-3 weeks to the following locations:
- Albany and Latham, NY
- Wells and Brattleboro, VT
- Willington, New Haven and Dayville, CT
- Port Chester, NY
- Dayton and Akron, OH
- Grove City and Bloomsburg, PA
- Ridgefield and Mt Laurel, NJ
- White Marsh/Elkton, MD
- Falls Church, VA
