Hi, I'm Yoshi! I'm a 2-year-old, 60lb Pit mix with an adorable underbite and a heart full of love to give. I'm a couch connoisseur, a professional cuddler, and an expert at finding the coziest spot next to my humans. I'm crate trained and potty trained, and I sleep through the night without a peep. My foster parents have taught me "paw," "down," "touch," and "place," and I'm a super quick learner, especially when treats are involved! I'm also very tolerant of being handled, which is great because I'm a big baby who loves to be pampered. While I'm still working on building my confidence, I'm getting braver every day. I love meeting new people, though I can be a little jumpy at first due to excitement. Give me a treat, and I'll warm up in no time and be snuggling on your couch.
Ideal Home
I'm looking for a loving home where I can continue to build my confidence. A quiet, less densely populated residential area would be ideal for me to thrive. While a fenced yard isn't mandatory, it would be a bonus! I'd do best in a home without other animals, as I need to be an only pet while I gain more confidence. I would also prefer a home with older children, as unpredictable toddler energy can be a bit overwhelming for me right now.
Ongoing Health
I'm vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm. I've also been neutered. I no longer need a belly band, but I'm happy to wear one for the transition home if it helps everyone feel more comfortable.
Training & Support
I'm a work in progress when it comes to my confidence, especially around other dogs. While I'm improving on walks and am mostly non-reactive to people, I'll need adopters who can help me continue to build confidence. I'm a champion loose-leash walker in quieter environments and I check in with my handler often. I'm highly food motivated and gentle when taking treats, making training a fun and rewarding experience.
