Elmo

Elmo is a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with a heart of gold and a spirit of resilience. He came to us after an unfortunate incident where he was shot in the hip, with the bullet lodged near his spine. Thankfully, this bullet has since become completely encapsulated, and all specialists agree that removal would be far riskier than leaving it be. The wonderful news is that this past trauma does not define Elmo’s future! He is a healthy, comfortable, and happy boy expected to live a long and joyful life.

Ideal Home

Elmo would do best in a home that understands he doesn't need to be an adventure athlete to be a wonderful companion. While he enjoys his walks and his people, extreme sports like leaping from rock to rock are not in his immediate future. He would thrive with sturdy children over the age of 10, as we want them to be old enough to understand Elmo's medical situation and treat him gently. Elmo has shown some mild interest in cats, so dog-savvy cats may be a good fit.

Ongoing Health

Elmo has a bullet lodged near his spine that is encapsulated and does not require removal. He is otherwise healthy and comfortable.

Training & Support

Elmo is a normal, joyful dog who enjoys his people and canine friends. He is good with other dogs and loves people. He has a particular appreciation for a high-quality dog bed where he can fully relax.
