Dexter

Dexter is a loyal and protective adult male Pointer mix who is ready to find his forever family! He can be a bit wary of strangers initially, but once he gets to know you, he's a fantastic companion. Dexter would do best in a home where he can be introduced to new people gradually. When visitors come over, he'll need to go to another room or be crated. We highly recommend multiple visits to get acquainted with Dexter before he joins your household. He's already shown us how wonderful he can be with the staff once he's comfortable!

Dexter is a large, short-coated dog with red/chestnut/orange and white/cream coloring. He is neutered and vaccinated.

Ideal Home

Dexter thrives in a home where his people understand his protective nature. He needs a family who will be patient with him and allow him to adjust at his own pace. Due to his protective instincts and potential for fear of new people, Dexter cannot live with other animals or children.

Training & Support

Dexter is house-trained. He may need extra time and patience to build trust and feel comfortable in a new environment. Remember, it can take up to 3 months for a new pet to fully settle in. He will need to be managed carefully around visitors, and we recommend multiple visits to get to know him before adoption.
