Meet Hershey, a 3.5-year-old, 42-pound spayed female Pit Bull Terrier/Bulldog mix with a heart as sweet as her name! Found wandering the streets of Houston, Texas, Hershey was rescued by a loving foster who gave her a safe place to land. She has since blossomed into a loyal, affectionate, and easygoing companion, ready for her forever home.
Hershey is a low-rider cuddle bug who absolutely adores her people. She's happiest when curled up on the couch next to you or following you from room to room. She bonds deeply with her humans and thrives in a home where she's a central part of the family's daily life. She is fully housebroken and does well in her crate. Hershey walks calmly on a leash and loves exploring the neighborhood. She carries herself with confidence and will let you know if someone is at the door with her charming little bark. Hershey is playful, curious, and enjoys zoomies, especially in a yard where she can run. While generally mellow indoors, she loves regular walks and time outside.
Ideal Home
Hershey is looking for a stable, loving home where she can feel safe and continue to thrive. She would do best in a calm environment, especially during loud noises like fireworks or thunderstorms, as these can spook her. Hershey has had positive experiences with children, including a 9-year-old boy, and would be a great match for a home with respectful kids. She has a bouncy play style with other dogs and may put her front paws on them to initiate play. Therefore, she would do best either as the only pet in the home, soaking up all the love, or with a calm, tolerant dog who won't mind her enthusiastic approach. Since we don't have history with cats, slow, supervised introductions or a cat-free home would be best.
