Salem

Salem and his sister were found abandoned at the end of a road, and now this energetic hound puppy is ready to find his forever family! Salem is estimated to be around 9 months old and is full of typical hound puppy exuberance – he loves to explore, sniff out every scent, and isn't afraid to let you know if something isn't to his liking. He's a smart cookie, too, already making great progress with potty training and is crate trained. Like many puppies, Salem has a few habits to work on, such as jumping, counter surfing, and getting easily distracted by "squirrel!" However, his eagerness to learn and please, combined with his food motivation, means training is likely to be a rewarding experience.

Ideal Home

Salem thrives with companionship and would do best in a home with another dog to keep him company. He is not recommended for apartment or condo living due to his separation anxiety, unless you are prepared to dedicate significant effort to helping him overcome it.

Ongoing Health

Salem is heartworm negative, neutered, and up-to-date on all his vaccinations.

Training & Support

Salem is working on his puppy habits like jumping and counter surfing. He experiences separation anxiety and howls when left alone. He loves other dogs and needs a canine companion. He's not aggressive towards cats but needs to learn that they are not dogs to play with.
