Meet Inigo, a gentle 2-year-old soul with a heart full of love, ready to give and receive affection. Affectionately known as Nigo, he's a sensitive and affectionate Lab-houndish mix who is discovering the joys of pet life and embraces every moment. Simple walks bring him immense joy, and his curiosity turns them into adventurous explorations. At home, he's content snuggling beside you or resting at your feet, making him the perfect Netflix buddy. Nigo is house and crate trained and looks to his humans for guidance and approval. He needs a confident and nurturing companion to help him feel secure, as the world can still be a bit scary for him after experiencing abuse, neglect, and abandonment in his early months. Despite his past, he's bravely overcoming his fears and shining every day with the help of compassion, support, and nurturing love.
Nigo was found abandoned in a cornfield, learning to navigate the world alone before his rescue. While he can sometimes seem lost in thought or easily overstimulated, he possesses a calm, old-soul demeanor and truly flourishes in a loving and consistent environment. He enjoys blending into the background, appreciating a sense of anonymity, and is gradually learning the delights of a loving home. With gentle support, he's learning to trust and settle in. As his confidence grows, he blossoms into a wonderfully affectionate companion, always ready for cuddles and cozy evenings watching shows with his people.
Ideal Home
Nigo would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and patient, dedicated people who use positive reinforcement training. Older children are acceptable, provided they are respectful of boundaries and personal space. Above all, Nigo needs a nurturing environment that encourages his growth while gently guiding him through his uncertainties, offering comfort and support with lots of tasty treats. His soft, gentle heart needs a strong, loving one to feel truly safe.
Ongoing Health
Nigo has no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Nigo is house and crate trained, respectful of other dogs, cats, and people, and walks well on leash with good recall. He's happy to simply exist and is not pushy, making him easily accommodated. Training is an ongoing process, and continued positive reinforcement will help him succeed.
