About Monika

Monika is a sweet, approximately 1-year-old female Labrador mix, weighing around 26 lbs. She was rescued in March 2024 from the streets of Saltillo, Mexico, along with her mother and siblings. Initially very fearful, Monika has blossomed with love and patience in her foster home, becoming playful, funny, and quite the food enthusiast! She is crate-trained and has been socializing well with other dogs and people. While she is a bit shy and cautious, she is incredibly noble and submissive, just needing a little extra time to build trust.

Ideal Home

Monika would thrive in an active home with a family who enjoys daily walks or hiking. A fenced backyard is a must for her. She needs a family willing to give her at least three months to show her best personality and who understands the needs of rescued street animals. Prior experience with dog behavior and training, along with high tolerance and patience for a rescued pup, is highly valued.

Ongoing Health

Monika is spayed/neutered, has received two DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, and a Bordetella vaccine. She has been dewormed and tested negative for heartworm. Her 4DX test results are on file, and she is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet. She is NOT house-trained.

Training & Support

Monika is not yet house-trained, and her foster family has been unable to dedicate the time to house-train each rescued animal due to the number of pets needing care. She is shy and cautious, requiring patience and love to gain confidence.
