Marie is a sweet girl who is always ready for an adventure, though she prefers to go on them with her people! This lovely lady has a history of finding her way on solo journeys, traveling from North County to South County in San Diego before finding her way to us. Marie aims to please and does wonderfully with other dogs. She forms deep bonds with her inner circle of people. Because of her strong desire to explore, she can NEVER be left unattended. When you're away or unable to supervise her, she must be crated, and when you're out and about, she needs to be walked on a double leash. While these extra safety measures might sound like a lot, we promise that once you meet Marie, they'll feel like a small price to pay for the immense love and devotion she offers. Her escape tendencies stem from her past life of living at large in the desert and protecting her pups. She's an impressive jumper, climber, and digger. Loud noises and surprises can startle her, but she's blossomed from being aloof to eagerly approaching new people for food and affection. Marie is loyal, loving, kind, and forgiving. She's also a great companion for dogs and is balanced with neutral canine friends. She loves exploring the world on leash but is also happy to simply relax by your side. After a year of dedicated care and training, she's more than ready to find her forever home. She's looking for a family that will prioritize her safety, and in return, she'll shower you with love for a lifetime.
Ideal Home
Marie needs a home that will keep her safe, no matter what. Due to her history as a flight risk, she cannot be left unattended in a yard. Open doors and windows need to be a constant consideration for her new family. Off-leash activities in unfenced areas are a strict no-go for life.
