Scoop and his siblings were surrendered to us when his family faced a difficult situation with a child's health and financial hardship. Despite missing a few meals, Scoop was well-socialized and clearly well-loved. He adores being held and cuddled, and like his siblings, he is very people-oriented and eager for as much human attention as you're willing to give! We're guessing at Scoop's breed mix, as we didn't get to meet his parents. We suspect he might have some bully breed and herding dog in him, with a splash of Chihuahua, as is common for dogs from his area. He's a curious mix, and we're awaiting DNA results from one of his littermates to learn more. We anticipate Scoop will be a medium-sized dog when fully grown, but we always encourage adopters to be prepared to love them no matter their final size! At his vet appointment on July 8th, he weighed 10 pounds and was estimated to be 11 weeks old.
Ideal Home
Scoop is a social butterfly and thrives on interaction. He needs a home committed to continuing his socialization, exposing him to new sights, sounds, and experiences, as well as plenty of opportunities to meet other dogs of all kinds.
Ongoing Health
Scoop has been vet-checked, vaccinated, and de-wormed. He will need two additional puppy vaccinations and a rabies shot at the adopter's expense. He is required to be altered by 6 months of age.
Training & Support
The early months are crucial for puppies to learn essential social skills for interacting with other dogs and becoming well-adjusted members of the community. We strongly encourage adopters to provide extensive socialization opportunities, including playdates, trips to pet-friendly stores, puppy socialization classes, and later, obedience classes. A tired dog is a happy dog, and consistent engagement will help him succeed!
