Sentry is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix with an estimated DOB of January 2026. He currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. Sentry was rescued from the woods with his mother and siblings during a Texas freeze and has since been raised in a loving foster home. He wakes up happy and ready for cuddles, play, and walks. Sentry is affectionate, playful, and loves people and other dogs. He is potty trained and is growing into a confident, well-rounded dog. Sentry is outgoing and friendly, always eager to make new friends and be included in activities. He has been around children and has done well, and he enjoys playing with other dogs. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn.
Ideal Home
Sentry is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him mature. Homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog are preferred to help mentor and guide Sentry. If a home does not have another dog, a proactive plan for continued socialization, such as structured training classes, playdates, or supervised daycare, is essential. Because Sentry is still young, homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are also preferred to ensure he receives regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, training, and human interaction.

Transporation
