Arthur is a charming 5-year-old, 78-pound neutered Staffordshire Terrier/Retriever mix with a heart as big as his personality. He was found roaming a park and brought to a local shelter, where his sweet nature captured our hearts. Now in a foster home in Houston, Texas, Arthur is ready to find his forever family!
Arthur is a wonderful blend of playful energy and affectionate cuddles. He's a moderate-energy dog who loves playtime, exploring, and simply being with his people. He's had positive experiences with dogs of various sizes, from a 70-pound Black Lab to a 15-pound Chihuahua, and is adept at reading social cues to know when a playmate needs a break. Arthur has also shown curiosity and gentle interest towards cats and pot-bellied pigs, though introductions and supervision are always recommended. He's been around children and does well, but due to his size and enthusiasm, he could accidentally knock over a small child during play. He would thrive in a home that understands and can accommodate his energetic spirit.
Ideal Home
Arthur's ideal home will provide regular exercise, structure, and plenty of opportunities to be an active part of the family. While he doesn't need another dog to be happy, he would truly thrive with people who enjoy including their canine companion in everyday adventures.
Ongoing Health
Arthur is up-to-date on all vaccinations and has been neutered. He is house-trained and crate-trained, settling nicely in his crate for extended periods.
Training & Support
Arthur may pull on the leash initially but settles into a routine and walks well. He absolutely loves car rides and will give you his full attention when you mention them! He thinks "if he can fit, he can sit," so be prepared for some affectionate lap time.
