Meet Spud! This handsome Presa Canario is a sweet senior looking for a loving family to spend his golden years with. Spud's past was a bit rough; he was found in a shelter in Southern Mississippi and was facing euthanasia before The Bullpen Rescue stepped in to give him a second chance. Now in a foster home in Georgia, Spud is ready to find his forever. He's a very social boy who's friendly with most people he meets and gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats in his foster home. He's described as affectionate, playful, and mellow, with a love for toys, naps, and his humans.

Ideal Home

Spud would do best in a home with children older than 10 who are experienced with big dogs and not too loud or rambunctious. He enjoys the company of other friendly dogs over 30lbs.

Ongoing Health

Spud is heartworm positive but has begun treatment and will come with all the necessary medication for his new family to complete it.

Training & Support

Spud is working on his indoor manners, including counter surfing and getting on furniture. He has an unusual obsession with water and his intake must be closely monitored to prevent dangerous overhydration. He is crate-trained and walks well on a leash, and is also learning basic obedience.
