Vela is a beautiful charcoal gal who came all the way up here from New Mexico. She was in a really bad situation, and is so thankful that Save-A-Bull rescued her and gave her a second chance at life. Her foster mom tells me she is such a doll! She loves to give kisses and sleep in bed with her humans. Vela is not potty trained yet, but she has been working hard at this and is doing well, even with the cold weather. She is not thrilled about the kennel yet because she loves cuddling with people, but she thinks she will do well in there if given some toys to occupy her time. Vela hasn't met any tiny humans yet. She is sure she would love them, but she has sharp teeth and hasn't quite figured out that that hurts. She would probably do best in a home with bigger humans as she does tend to get excited with her mouth. She doesn't mean to hurt, but she is still learning manners as she didn't have the structure to learn that before. Vela currently lives with pitties who are 12, 5, and 4 years old, along with her brother. She plays well with others, and loves cuddling with the other dogs. She also loves snuggling up to her human, but sometimes she just wants to relax on her own and will chill for a bit by herself. She has not met any cats, but she doesn't have much of a prey drive with all the squirrels outside. She is a sweet gal who wants to have a loving home, and would make a really great addition to any family that would give her some patience as she learns to be the best dog ever. She thinks she would really benefit and love some obedience classes, as she just really wants to please her humans. She is hoping her new home is with you!
Ideal Home
Vela would do best in a home with bigger humans as she can get excited with her mouth. She is still learning manners and would benefit from a home that understands this.
