About ARIEL
UPDATE EXTENSION EMERGENCY PLACEMENT DEADLINE CLOSE OF BUSINESS SUNDAY JULY 5, 2026 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION ONLY THROUGH PACC Name: Ariel Animal ID: A899515 Age: 4 years Weight: 43lbs Web Link: 24petconnect.com/PimaAdoptablePets/Details/PIMA/A899515 About: Meet Ariel, a beautiful 4-year-old Cattle Dog mix who is ready to be part of your world! This sweet and loving girl is an absolute superstar on walks, showing excellent leash manners and her affectionate side. Ariel originally came to us as a stray at the beginning of May, so while her early history is a mystery, her wonderful potential is easy to see. Unfortunately, the prolonged time in a kennel environment has been very tough on Ariel, and she is currently experiencing shelter decline. The constant noise and activity have caused her to struggle with overstimulation, which manifests as barrier reactivity and redirection. Because the high-stress shelter environment has become too much for her to handle, Ariel desperately needs a an adopter to get her out of the kennel and into a calm space. Ariel will thrive best in a quiet, low-traffic household with a patient owner who can offer her a structured routine and a peaceful place to fully decompress. With the right environment to help her lower her stress levels, this loyal, intelligent girl will be able to leave her shelter anxieties behind and blossom into the wonderful companion we know she is. Please help us share Ariel's story or reach out today to give her the fresh start she urgently needs. Ariel will thrive best with a patient and understanding adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to fully decompress from shelter life. The transition out of a high-stress kennel environment takes time, and she will blossom with a family that lets her decompress at her own pace. By offering her a predictable routine and a calm, supportive transition, her new family will help this loyal, intelligent girl leave her shelter anxieties behind and truly shine as a wonderful companion. Available for adoption ONLY through PACC. Interested parties: Must visit PACC before the COB SUNDAY JULY 5, 2026, deadline to meet with a counselor who will review notes and introduce you to the dog to ensure that it’s a good fit. Some dogs may also require an introduction to any dogs they may potentially live with. Avoid dog parks, group walks, or introductions to unfamiliar dogs to maintain safety and reduce stress. • Behaviors could improve with proper management and/or professional training. In Shelter Decline: • Ariel has begun to decline behaviorally in the shelter environment due to ongoing stress or overstimulation. This may present as increased reactivity, withdrawal, or sensitivity towards leash reactivity, dog aggression, barrier reactivity, redirection • Decompression Needed: Once in a home, they will need dedicated time and patience to decompress and re-adjust to life outside of the shelter. • Initial Transition: It’s normal for dogs experiencing shelter stress to be overstimulated or unsettled for the first few days to weeks. Allow them to set the pace for interactions and provide structure, routine, and positive reinforcement to support their adjustment.
