Gigi is a beautiful, approximately 3-year-old, 40 lb Staffordshire Terrier mix with a heart full of love to give. She was found as a stray in Saltillo, Mexico, facing significant dangers. After being rescued, she bravely battled a serious health crisis during her spay surgery, needing hospitalization due to coagulation problems. Despite this challenging start, Gigi is a fighter who has recovered and is now ready for her second chance at a happy life. She is described as friendly, affectionate, loyal, gentle, playful, smart, protective, brave, curious, independent, funny, athletic, quiet, dignified, loving, sweet, joyful, mellow, caring, cheerful, pampered, obedient, patient, cuddly, dashing, devoted, sensitive, eager to please, silly, snuggly, entertaining, warm, and intelligent. She is also noted to be dog-friendly.
Ideal Home
Gigi would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard, preferably with owners who enjoy outdoor activities and have experience with her breed. Families with an open mind towards the needs and behaviors of rescue animals, coupled with experience in dog behavior and training, will be best equipped to provide Gigi with the understanding and guidance she deserves. She requires a high tolerance and patience for a rescued dog who is still learning.
Ongoing Health
Gigi is spayed and up-to-date on all her vaccinations, including DHPPI, Rabies, and Bordetella. She has been dewormed and tested for 4DX and heartworm (tested negative). She receives monthly preventive treatment for fleas, ticks, and heartworms (Nexgard Spectra). A health certificate and vaccination booklet are available.
Training & Support
Gigi is not house-trained and will require patience and consistency in this area. The rescue team acknowledges that providing extensive house-training for all rescued animals is challenging due to the sheer number of pets in foster care. Potential adopters should be prepared to dedicate time to training and integration.

Transporation
Gigi is currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on a cross-country trip if adopted. Transportation to the adopter's home address is available for a fee of $400.00, paid by the adopter prior to the pet's departure.
