Meet Cleo! This beautiful 2-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix has faced so much already, from abandonment to motherhood and a battle with heartworms. Through it all, Cleo has remained an absolute angel! She safely brought eight puppies into the world, and now it's finally her turn to find her forever family. Cleo is young, playful, and full of happy energy. She loves meeting new dog friends and has a sweet, joyful personality that makes her a pleasure to be around. She is house-trained and walks nicely on a leash, making her a fabulous companion.
Ideal Home
Cleo would do best in a home with a secure, fenced yard, as she's a talented jumper who can clear a 4-foot fence! She's looking for a family ready to give her the love and stability she's been waiting for. Because she can be a little unsure when left alone for long periods, a family who can help her build confidence and show her that being apart doesn't mean abandonment would be ideal. She hasn't been cat-tested and seems too interested in cats from afar. Due to her size and playful nature, older children would likely be the best fit. Cleo also gets excited by bicycles and motorcycles, so she will need a confident handler who can safely manage her on walks.
Ongoing Health
Cleo has been treated for heartworms. All dogs are cleared by a licensed veterinarian for transport and arrive spayed/neutered with age-appropriate vaccines completed and are microchipped.
Training & Support
Cleo is house-trained and walks nicely on a leash. She can be a little unsure when left alone for long periods and gets excited by bicycles and motorcycles, so she will need a confident handler who can safely manage her on walks.

Transportation
Cleo is currently in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. For out-of-town adopters, we offer virtual meet-and-greets and can arrange transport to many states in the Northeast. Transports run every 2-3 weeks to the city on this listing. We cannot adopt to Rhode Island due to import restrictions.
