Comet

Comet is a 3-year-old, neutered male, hound and retriever mix weighing 56 pounds. He's a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to please and is always looking for cuddles. Comet was rescued from the streets and is now thriving in a foster home, ready to find his forever family!

Ideal Home

Comet would be happiest in a home with another dog to play and snuggle with. He has done well with indoor cats and children, but we recommend a home with children aged 10 years or older who can understand animal behavior cues, as he has a slight herding instinct. While he is wary of men, he adores his foster dad and will come around with patience and consistency.

Ongoing Health

Comet is a healthy boy with no known ongoing health concerns.

Training & Support

Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night in his crate without complaint and doesn't pull on the leash. He hasn't had any accidents in the house and will alert you when he needs to go potty. Comet doesn't seem to have separation anxiety but does need to be crated when unsupervised as he enjoys tasting things he shouldn't. He is easy to train and responds well to positive reinforcement.

Transportation

Comet is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas. He can be transported to approved adopters once a match is made. Transports occur every few weeks, so please apply when you are ready to welcome a dog into your home.
