Delilah’s house manners are impeccable. She sleeps soundly through the night, whether at the foot of the bed, on her own dog bed, or on the living room couch. She patiently waits for her foster parents to wake and let her out. After a successful potty break, she often does a goofy, joyful zoom back into the house to celebrate! Her ideal day includes a leisurely morning walk or some yard time, a bit of playtime with her favorite squeaky toys, and, of course, snack time. When her foster parents leave, she’s free to roam the house and is never destructive. She’s a dream dog for someone who cherishes calm companionship. Delilah is brave and unfazed by noises like thunder, vacuums, trash trucks, and fireworks.

She’s also the perfect work-from-home buddy, remaining quiet and content, always nearby for a comforting furry presence when you need a break. She’ll approach you for an ear or nose scratch when the time feels right, as if she senses you need a moment. Otherwise, she’s happy to be a window watcher or to curl up with a good chew toy.

Delilah can be a little shy initially, as new people and places can make her uncertain. With gentle patience and time to feel safe and loved, she bonds deeply and adores her people with her whole heart. She’ll follow you from room to room, greet you with extreme enthusiasm even after a short absence, and roll over for belly rubs. Delilah enjoys time with her teenage human fosters and appreciates their sturdiness, as she loves to lean her entire body in for affection, curl up on a lap, and engage in occasional playful roughhousing.

Delilah thrives in a semi-active home that enjoys neighborhood walks, hiking adventures, and relaxed time in the yard. A family or individual who appreciates nature and is ready to explore trails or snowy landscapes would be a wonderful match. While she loves the outdoors, she equally values her downtime indoors and settles in beautifully after activity. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard where she can stretch her legs, roll in the grass, and soak up the sun. A home without cats is a must, as Delilah shows far too much interest in them.
