Sandy

Sandy is a sweet, almost 12-year-old Poodle mix who was originally adopted from us as a puppy. He recently found himself back in our care after his owner passed away. While at another shelter, Sandy did well on outings and with other dogs, but he became very distressed when left alone in a kennel. We were happy to welcome him back, as it's our policy to always take our former residents.

Ideal Home

Sandy is housetrained and used to having human and canine companionship. He thrives in an environment where he isn't left alone for long periods and is comfortable with other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Sandy's blood work is healthy. He has a heart murmur and a small growth on his eye that appears to be a cherry eye, which will be addressed. As a hospice dog, there is no adoption fee, though adopters must qualify.

Training & Support

Sandy is already housetrained and accustomed to having company. He has shown distress when left alone, so a home where he can have consistent companionship would be ideal.
