Rusty is an adorable 1-3-year-old Cairn Terrier mix, weighing approximately 15 pounds, with a beautiful red/chestnut coat and a personality that's just as bright! Rusty's journey began as a stray who was brought to the local shelter, and now he's ready to find the loving forever home he deserves. This happy little guy hasn't met a stranger—he loves people, adores kids, and enjoys spending time with other dogs. If you're looking for a friendly companion who is always ready for fun, Rusty may be your perfect match! Playtime is Rusty's favorite part of the day. Whether he is chasing toys, romping around with his canine friends, or exploring his surroundings, he is always on the go. He's an energetic pup who would thrive with an active family that can keep him engaged and give him plenty of opportunities to play. Rusty walks nicely on a leash, knows "come," responds well to verbal correction, and is eager to please. He's currently working on his house training—he's doing well with going potty outside and is making progress with the rest of his training. Ideal Home
Rusty would do well in a home with another playful dog and would likely love a family with children. Because Rusty is curious and can be quick to slip through an open door or gate, he will require a securely fenced yard where he can safely run and play. His compatibility with cats is unknown.
Ongoing Health
Rusty is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Rusty is currently working on his house training and is making progress. He is learning to go potty outside and responds well to verbal correction.
