About Prince Boy

Prince is a handsome boy who found himself in a tough spot through no fault of his own. He's a 2 to 2.5-year-old mixed breed weighing between 58-64 pounds and has transformed into a true gem since being rescued. Prince was surrendered to a high-kill shelter, facing euthanasia due to space and a treatable heartworm condition and an eye issue. Thankfully, he was saved and received the necessary medical care, including neutering, heartworm treatment (he is no longer positive!), and surgery to correct entropion in his eye. He sailed through his treatments with no complications. Prince is up-to-date on all his shots, crate-trained, and potty-trained. He's a social butterfly, getting along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and genders. While he used to hump other dogs, neutering has resolved this, and he's now very playful. He's treat and food-motivated but not aggressive about it. Prince enjoys car rides and walks, and he absolutely loves his fenced backyard. His energy level is medium, and he would likely not do well in an apartment setting. He knows commands like "sit," "come," "heel" for leash walking, and "gentle" or "nice" for taking treats.

Ideal Home

Prince would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where he can play and explore. A canine companion would be a bonus, but it's not a requirement. He can be a great addition to a family with children, a couple, or a single person, as long as he's included in daily adventures. He needs a home that is not an apartment. Potential adopters must be over 21 years old. No tie-outs or electric fences will be permitted.

Ongoing Health

Prince has fully recovered from his heartworm treatment and has had successful surgery to correct entropion in his eye. He is up-to-date on all vaccinations.

Training & Support

Prince is already crate-trained and potty-trained and knows several commands. He is treat and food motivated, making training enjoyable. He has learned to be gentle when taking treats.
