Velvet

Mommy Velvet is a 53 lb bundle of love with medium-length fur, ready to start her next chapter! She came to us as a mama, giving birth to her precious puppy, Baby Denim, just before arriving. Velvet was an absolute superstar, raising her singleton puppy with incredible dedication and care. Now that Denim is thriving, Velvet is looking for her own loving forever family. She's a smart cookie, likely due to her intelligent breed mix, and shows a great recall, making her a fantastic companion for off-leash adventures at cottages and on hikes once she's bonded with her people. Velvet gets along wonderfully with other dogs and still enjoys a good romp with her toys. She's housebroken and loves spending time outdoors.

Ideal Home

Velvet would thrive in a family environment where she can be an active part of all family activities. She's not a fan of being crated and would be happiest cuddling on the couch with her favorite humans. Because we don't know how she'd do with cats, a cat-free home is a must. She needs a family that will give her plenty of outdoor time with them, whether it's hiking, visiting dog beaches, or enjoying time at the cottage.

Ongoing Health

Velvet is spayed and up-to-date on all her vaccinations, including Bordetella and Lepto. She's microchipped and was recently treated with 30 days of Doxycycline for a positive Lyme test result. She also had some teeth removed during her spay.

Training & Support

Velvet is a well-behaved girl who knows her basic commands and is generally quiet. She's housebroken and enjoys her time outdoors. She does need a bit more leash work as she hasn't had many opportunities for walks in her foster home.

Transporation

Velvet is currently located with her foster family in the country, but transportation can be arranged for approved adopters within Ontario.
