Brownie

Brownie is an energetic and loving 4-year-old male Labrador mix, weighing around 35 lbs. He was rescued as a puppy and, after suffering from severe mange, he has some scars and patches of white fur. Brownie is very social and affectionate, loves people, and enjoys attention, hugs, and pets. He has a funny fascination with water and loves to play in it. Despite his challenges, Brownie is a sweet, friendly dog looking for a committed adopter willing to help him channel his energy and give him the life he deserves.

Ideal Home

A home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Families should have a real intention to rescue a dog and an open conscience about the needs of rescued animals. Experience with dog behavior and training is preferred, or a willingness to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued animals are essential.

Ongoing Health

Brownie was treated for severe mange as a puppy, which left him with some scarring and white patches of fur. He has worn teeth from chewing. All medical protocols have been completed, including spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchipping, 4DX test, heartworm test, and he is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative. He has a health certificate and vaccine booklet.

Training & Support

Brownie is anxious and loves to chew, so he needs an outlet for his energy. He knows how to use a crate but becomes very stressed when confined. He has not yet been leash-trained and can be anxious during transport. He is not house-trained. Patience, structure, and love will be crucial for him to thrive.

Transporation

Brownie is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is available for transport to the East Coast of the US. Transportation is available through a contracted company for a fee of $400 USD, which includes door-to-door delivery and regular updates on his journey.
