Jake

Hi, I’m Jake! I was a bit skinny when I was rescued, and because of that, I can sometimes be food aggressive or guard my food. This means I would do best in a home without small children. I’m happy and gaining weight now! I’m an energetic pup who would love lots of exercise, and I’m already well-mannered and good on the leash. I’d make a great running or hiking partner! I’m also very smart and enjoy plenty of mental activities too!

I’m a wonderful dog who gets along well with other animals and humans. I have a loud bark, but I’m very friendly! I am crate trained and sleep well at night with no barking. I do have a lot of extra energy, so I’ll need at least two 20-minute walks daily. I do well at the dog park and the dog beach. I respond well to treats and am easy to train – I learned to sit after just a few days!

Ideal Home

A home without small children due to past food guarding tendencies. I’m looking for an active family who can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.

Ongoing Health

I am recovering from being underweight and am now healthy and gaining weight.

Training & Support

I am easy to train and respond well to treats. I already know how to sit! I need at least two 20-minute walks daily to manage my extra energy.
