Meet Dahlia

Dahlia is a sweet, pint-sized pittie with a gentle heart and so much love to give. She loves chicken treats, leisurely walks, belly rubs, and soaking up affection from the people she trusts.

Dahlia came to us after being found tied up alongside another female dog, and we know she has had at least one litter of puppies. Despite everything she's been through, she has held onto her gentle and loving spirit.

New environments can make Dahlia a little nervous at first, but with kind people, reassurance, and patience, she warms up and shows just how affectionate she truly is.

One of our volunteers recently welcomed Dahlia into her home for an overnight sleepover, giving us a wonderful glimpse of who Dahlia is outside the shelter. Like many dogs adjusting to a new place, Dahlia needed some time and gentle reassurance to settle in. Out on walks, she noticed dogs, bikes, children, and passing cars, but did not bark, lunge, or overreact. Once she had support and time to relax, her affectionate side truly shined-she leaned in for pets, gave sweet kisses, and loved being included in family activities.

Dahlia has also enjoyed spending time with another dog and could be happy with a canine friend for playdates or companionship.

One of our longtime dog volunteers shared, "Dahlia is absolutely one of the sweetest dogs I have met in my 12 years at Baypath. She has everything you could want in a dog - sweet, cuddly and beautiful, too! She looks into your eyes and you melt!"
