Machika is a sweet Akita mix, around 2-3 years old and weighing 53 lbs. She’s calm, loving, and enjoys leisurely walks, relaxing car rides, and playing in the garden with her canine pals. Machika can be a bit particular with other dogs and would do best in a home without cats. She’s incredibly gentle with people and is eager to offer her affection. Machika’s journey has been a tough one, having spent much of her life on the streets, enduring harsh conditions and mistreatment. Thankfully, some kind neighbors provided her with food and care, leading to her rescue. Despite her difficult past, Machika has blossomed into a trusting and affectionate dog who deeply desires human companionship. She was once abandoned, but what Machika truly deserves is a secure and loving home where she'll never feel alone or afraid again. She is ready to be a loyal and loving companion.
Ideal Home
Machika needs a home with a tall, fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. She would also thrive with owners who have experience in dog behavior and training or are willing to hire a trainer. Patience and understanding are key, especially as she may need an adjustment period to feel secure in her new environment.
Ongoing Health
Machika has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and rabies vaccines, a Bordetella vaccine, and deworming. She is microchipped and has tested negative for heartworm and 4DX. She is up-to-date on her monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccine booklet are provided. Please note that rescued dogs may require patience as they adjust and may not be house-trained.
Training & Support
Machika is not house-trained and will require a patient owner willing to work on this. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences and need time to adapt. Patience, a safe and loving environment, and establishing a routine with clear boundaries will help build trust and strengthen your bond.

Transporation
Machika is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on an upcoming cross-country trip. A transport fee of $400 USD applies and covers door-to-door delivery. Regular updates will be provided during her journey.
