Hi there! I'm Rudy, a charming 13-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a heart full of love and a personality to match. Though I've seen some tough times, you'd never know it from my sweet nature and zest for life. I thrive on companionship and love to be by your side, whether you're working, resting, or just want to snuggle. I'm a laid-back lady who enjoys the simple pleasures: cozy blankets, comfy beds, gentle strolls, and plenty of affection. I will let you know with a little grumpy growl if I've had enough petting or don't want to be picked up, but I've never nipped – I just appreciate my boundaries being respected. I'm already potty trained and leash trained, and I'm a very well-behaved housemate. I get along with other dogs, but I tend to prefer my own space and no rough play; calm companions are the best fit for me.
Ideal Home
I'm dreaming of a quiet, calm home where someone is around often because I love being near my people! A cozy space filled with soft beds and blankets in a relaxed environment would be perfect for me to enjoy my golden years. I would do best in a home without children.
Ongoing Health
I have some health concerns to be aware of: moderate to severe enlargement on the left side of my heart, changes in my lungs consistent with possible pulmonary edema, and findings concerning for congestive heart failure. Despite these challenges, I'm a resilient and extra snuggly girl.
Training & Support
I'm already potty trained and leash trained, and I'm a well-behaved housemate. I prefer calm companions and my own space, so understanding my cues and respecting my boundaries is key.
