Rooster is a handsome, spirited 2-year-old Belgian Malinois mix, weighing 56lbs, with a heart as big as the outdoors he loves so much. Rescued during a heavy rainstorm in a notorious dog-dumping area, Rooster has already weathered more than most dogs his age. But despite his rough start, this young pup is full of life, love, and loyalty just waiting for the right person to share it with. He's happiest when he’s outside whether it's exploring trails, trotting alongside you on a hike, or just soaking up the fresh air. This boy is a protector by nature, with a strong instinct to keep his people safe. He loves kids and has been great with all of them he has met, melting into their pets. Rooster gets along great with other dogs and loves to play, but he’s also perfectly content being the only pup in your life. He walks well on a leash, is eager to please, and has a fun-loving, playful side once he knows he’s safe. Rooster is looking for more than a home; he’s looking for a purpose, a partner, and a place to belong.
