Eadie is a delightful 4-month-old Shih Tzu, weighing just over 7 lbs, who is sure to steal your heart (and maybe your shoes!). This happy furball came to us from a puppy mill but shows no lingering negative effects. She’s a joyful, curious, and outgoing pup who has been exposed to a variety of experiences, including car rides, different walking surfaces, and even vacuum cleaners (which she’s not a big fan of!). Eadie isn't particularly barky but might make a little noise in new situations or at unfamiliar sounds. She enjoys her walks and is learning to be a bit less crazy on the leash.
Ideal Home
Eadie would be a great companion for someone looking for a fun and portable furry friend who settles well and is comfortable being alone for periods. She would also be happy as an only dog or with other pets. While she is good with kids aged 8 and up, very young children might be too overstimulating for her.
Ongoing Health
Eadie is up-to-date with her vaccinations, is spayed, and has a clean bill of health. She will be getting a booster shot soon, and so far, her vet visits have been positive experiences. She will require regular professional grooming, including brushing every 2-3 days or daily, depending on her hairstyle.
Training & Support
House training is going well for Eadie, though she may have occasional accidents if her cues are missed. She typically needs to go out every 2-3 hours when active and about 20-30 minutes after a big drink. She can hold it for about 6 hours overnight. Eadie also loves to chew, and adopters should be mindful of keeping garden mulch, sticks, and household objects out of reach until she learns boundaries. Using a lick mat has helped make bath time more engaging for her, and two brushes can help during grooming sessions.
