About Cleo

Cleo is a sweet 4-year-old, approximately 30 lb. Labrador mix with a heart full of gratitude and a gentle spirit. Rescued in November 2023, she was found with a leg fracture, but after receiving care, she healed well and can walk with just a slight crookedness. She's described as loyal, loving, calm, and incredibly happy to be alive! Cleo is already leash, crate, and car-ride trained, making her a well-behaved companion ready for her next adventure.

Ideal Home

Cleo would thrive in an active home with a fenced backyard, where she can enjoy daily walks or hikes. Her ideal family will be patient and understanding, willing to give her at least three months to fully show her personality. She would also benefit from a home with experience in dog behavior and training, as she is not yet house-trained and needs a family with high tolerance and patience for rescued animals.

Ongoing Health

Cleo is spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and tested negative for heartworm. She is on monthly preventive medication for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. While she walks a little crooked due to a past leg fracture, she has no special ongoing health needs.

Training & Support

Cleo is not house-trained, and her foster team emphasizes that due to the sheer number of rescued animals, they are unable to house-train each one. Her new family should be prepared to work on this with patience and consistency, offering her the protection and education she needs as a street rescue.
