Meet Chewy!

Chewy is one of 40 incredibly lucky pups that just arrived from one of our trusted shelter partners in California's Central Valley. We're so excited to welcome this sweet group to the Pacific Northwest as they begin their next chapter filled with safety, comfort, and love. Thirty-one of the dogs in this new group are Chihuahuas, Chihuahua mixes, and other small-breed cuties that were saved from an unfortunate hoarding situation where there was a total of 67 dogs. We'll be sharing more updates, photos, and personality details as we get to know each of them better now that they're in our custody. In the meantime, our foster and adopter outreach has officially begun, and we're hoping that these little ones will find their homes and families quickly! Chewy is a 1-year-old male Chihuahua mix weighing in at approximately 12.2 pounds.

Ideal Home

Chewy is good with people and dogs, but his reaction to cats is unknown at this time. He is spooked pretty easily, so he should be kept on leash at all times, even in the backyard. He likes slow intros with humans and other dogs.

Ongoing Health

Chewy is up to date on age-appropriate core vaccinations and is microchipped. All known medical and behavioral information is disclosed prior to adoption.

Training & Support

Chewy is getting the hang of potty training and is feeling more confident on walks. He is very affectionate and loves to be on laps.
