About Willow

Willow is a love bug with a big personality ready to charm her way into your heart! She's a floppy girl who will bring a smile to your face with her happy grunts and adorable grumbles. Willow arrived at LMHS in March 2025, and at approximately 6 years old, she's a dog who has learned a lot and is eager to share her improved self with a loving home.

Ideal Home

Willow would thrive in an adult-only home with an experienced owner who can provide structure and ongoing training. While she enjoys being close to her human, establishing boundaries, such as having her own sleeping space, is important for her continued progress. She gets along well with cats and small dogs, but due to her fear of larger dogs, we advise against a home with a larger dog. She may also compete for attention with other pets.

Ongoing Health

Willow was on anti-anxiety medication, but has not needed it for two months as she has made significant improvements. She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea treated.

Training & Support

Willow has made incredible progress after initially being surrendered due to persistent barking at visitors and fearfulness of the world. She was on anti-anxiety medication to help with intense moments of anxiety but no longer needs it. While she has grown immensely with structure and positive reinforcement, she may still bark at visitors, though this is now short-lived. Willow also has some separation anxiety and will bark when away from her trusted human, though this is also becoming short-lived. Consistent routine, structure, boundaries, and training are key to her continued confidence and independence. Because she is learning to manage her separation anxiety, she should not be taken everywhere with her humans, but rather encouraged to stay home independently. She is house-trained and may need a refresher on using pee pads.
