Keri is a sweet girl who originally came to us in 2019 from Kuwait. She had a rough start but was rescued and eventually made her way to us. Keri was adopted in 2020 but sadly lost her home through no fault of her own. She's a well-mannered and very lazy dog who needs a little encouragement to be less sedentary. Keri is significantly overweight, partly due to her thyroid, but also from being overfed and under-exercised. She generally does well with dogs her own size but isn't a fan of yippy little dogs. Honestly, she's indifferent to other dogs as long as they don't bother her. She's also not a cat person. Keri is looking for a moderately lazy owner who will ensure she gets a daily walk or two and is fed appropriately. She knows many commands and is exceptionally well-mannered. At her ideal weight, she'd be in the mid-40-pound range, but she's currently about 25% over that. Keri truly wants an owner to call her own. If you're a bit of a homebody and just want a loyal companion, Keri is your dog. She's devoted to one person and considers everyone else an interloper.
Ideal Home
Keri would thrive with a moderately lazy owner who can ensure she gets a walk or two a day and isn't overfed. She would not do well in a home with cats or small, yippy dogs.
Ongoing Health
Keri is hypothyroid, which contributes to her weight, but she is also overfed and under-exercised.
Training & Support
Keri is exceedingly well-mannered and knows many commands. She needs an owner committed to responsible feeding and exercise to help her reach a healthier weight.
