Meet Chanel, a brave and resilient 3 to 4-year-old terrier mix who has overcome a difficult past. She was found abandoned at a shelter in New Mexico and was even on the euthanasia list, feeling terrified and shut down. Thankfully, she was brought to Texas to receive a second chance and has since blossomed into a happy and energetic dog who even donates blood to help other animals in need! While her transformation is truly inspiring, she still has some healing and learning to do.
Ideal Home
Chanel is searching for a patient and understanding family who can help her rebuild her trust in humans. She would also benefit from having a canine companion in her home to learn from and feel more secure. She enjoys playing with soft squeaker toys and balls, but can be easily startled by loud noises and is still learning how to engage in play.
Ongoing Health
Chanel is healthy and up-to-date on her vetting, which includes DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, as well as spay/neuter, flea and heartworm prevention, and micro-chipping.
Training & Support
Chanel is still working through her past trauma and can be flinchy when hands reach towards her. She needs a gentle environment where she can learn to trust at her own pace. She is also still figuring out how to play with toys and may need guidance with this. She is receiving socialization and basic training from our team.

Transportation
Chanel is currently in Texas. We offer transportation to VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN, and OH. AZ is coming soon! Our transport vehicles are equipped with air conditioning and staffed with attendants providing 24-hour care. You can follow your pet's journey on a private Facebook event page. Our Adoption Coordinator will help you find the closest transport pick-up location. For adopters picking up in Angleton, Texas, there is a $75 fee which includes all vetting. For adopters in Texas, there is a flat rate fee of $250 for in-state transport. For other states, the adoption and transportation fee ranges from $100-500, with private custom transport routes and destinations available upon request at an additional cost to the adopter.
