Meet Mila - A Heart Ready to Heal and Love
Mila is a 2.5-year-old, approximately 25 lb, Chihuahua/Pomeranian/Boxer mix who was found lost, emaciated, and terrified in Blackwater Forest. After a kind stranger gained her trust and rescued her, she received much-needed veterinary care. Mila has been on a beautiful journey of healing and rediscovery since then. While initially fearful of strangers, her bright, affectionate personality truly shines once she builds trust. She is currently in a foster home, where she has proven to be crate and house-trained and is actively working on her basic obedience. Mila has made impressive strides with professional training sessions, but she will thrive best with continued guidance from a gentle, patient, yet confident person who understands that trust takes time. She may not be the life of the party and prefers peaceful homes over loud crowds and cozy snuggles over chaos.
Ideal Home
Mila prefers peaceful homes over loud crowds. She does well with most dogs but is also content being an only pet. Cats are not her cup of tea. Due to her history of starvation, she can guard her food around other animals (but not humans).
Ongoing Health
Mila is up-to-date on age-appropriate shots, microchipped, and spayed.
Training & Support
Mila is crate and house-trained and is actively working on basic obedience. She has undergone professional training sessions and will benefit from continued gentle, patient, and confident guidance. Puzzle feeders and snacks are her happy place.
