Meet Odyssey! This joyful 6-year-old boy joined us as a transfer from a partner organization and is ready to bring his boundless energy and happiness to his forever home. Odyssey is a big, sweet dog who's eager to please, though he sometimes forgets his own size and can get a little mouthy when excited. He's very food-motivated and loves treats, making him a joy to train.
Odyssey is currently participating in the SCI Fayette Training Program at the Fayette State Correctional Institution. There, he receives daily enrichment, positive reinforcement, and fear-free training from his inmate handlers. This program is preparing him to be the best companion possible for his future family!
Ideal Home
Odyssey would do best with an experienced family who can provide plenty of exercise and positive reinforcement. He could potentially live with children aged six and up, as long as they are comfortable with a strong, energetic dog. While he may be able to live with another dog, this would depend on a successful meet and greet. Odyssey would prefer a home without cats.
Ongoing Health
Odyssey is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all his vaccinations.
Training & Support
Odyssey is already working on basic manners and is very eager to please. As he can get a little mouthy when excited, positive reinforcement and continued training will be key to his success.
