Meet Laurel! She's a resilient and loving 2-year-old Collie and Chihuahua mix, weighing in at a perfect 20 pounds. Laurel is a true survivor, having overcome pneumonia and distemper. While she has a constant head tremor as a result of her past, it doesn't slow her down or cause her any pain – it's simply a part of her unique charm! She's spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Laurel is a social butterfly who gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, kids, and all humans. She's a homebody at heart, bravely learning to navigate the world with a little help from her foster family. Her journey has been incredible, and she's ready to share her boundless love with her forever family.
Ideal Home
Laurel would thrive in a calm and loving home where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace. She's still a bit nervous around crowds and strangers, especially men she doesn't know, and may need reassurance in busy situations. Patience and understanding are key to helping her feel safe and secure.
Ongoing Health
Laurel is a distemper survivor and experiences a constant head tremor. This is not something that requires medication at this time and is simply a part of who she is. She has no other known health issues.
Training & Support
Laurel is a pee pad pro and is reliably pottying on her pads. Outdoor potty training is still a work in progress. She can be a bit vocal when strangers are present, especially from the car, and is working on building her confidence around new people. She is now comfortable being left alone for up to 5 hours. When she's excited to see you, she expresses it with enthusiastic "love jumps"!
