Meet Phillip, a 50-pound Staffy mix who's a true champion at playing with his toys! He loves to fling them like a discus thrower and is just as enthusiastic about snuggles, especially after a successful bath. Phillip can be a little shy when you first meet him, but he's gaining confidence every day and his leash manners are improving. He's friendly with other dogs of all sizes and good with men and women. However, Phillip is not a fan of hands being raised towards him and is learning that hands are for petting, not for threats.
Phillip has a moderate to high energy level, so he needs daily exercise and mental stimulation, like long walks or puzzle toys. He is crate-trained and doesn't dig, but he does love his chew toys, so supervised play is a must. Phillip knows how to sit, and with treats, his excitement can be overwhelming, but he's making great progress. He needs a patient home that understands he's a work in progress and will help him grow into a confident, happy companion.
Ideal Home
Phillip would thrive in a home that can give him space to continue growing and building confidence. Homes with children 10 years and over are recommended.
Ongoing Health
Phillip has no known ongoing health concerns.
Training & Support
Phillip is working on his leash manners and his "sit" command when treats are involved. Supervised play with chew toys is recommended.
